The Honey Guild of the United Kingdom exists to evaluate the honey varieties made in the UK and to educate people in the sensory analysis of honey. We are the National organisation for Honey Sensory Analysis in the UK, and maintain the UK National Register of Experts in the Sensory Analysis of Honey.

The Honey Guild has been founded by trained honey experts, in order to assess, to profile and to establish standards in honey, thereby to raise the profile of UK honey on the market. 

In particular, the Guild will raise awareness of honey sensory analysis and offer training and honey experiences in this important area of honey understanding and to hold the UK national register of Experts in Honey Sensory Analysis.   

The sale of honey in the United Kingdom both serves the national demand for honey and provides monetary support for the keeping of bees, our essential pollinators.

The Italian government has established a honey sensory analysis authority in Bologna, which provides authoritative knowledge and training. The Guild has been established by Bologna trained experts to create an equivalent, but independent, body in the United Kingdom. 

As Masters of Wine have led to recognised standards and ever improving quality in wine production, so the Guild will work to improve and spread tasting expertise, provide recognised standards and  ever improving quality, in honey production, to the benefit of consumers and of bees.
